October 7, 2012 - Nicola & Emmanuel

It's a Thanksgiving miracle! It was cool and cloudy, but Mother Nature held off with the rain, and I broke my rainy wedding streak! Working with such a fun couple as Nicola and Emmanuel made the occasion that much sweeter. They're clearly a lot of fun, and although I only spent a few hours with them, I could easily tell that this group is a ton of fun. The fiery orange and red leaves of the gorgeous Strathmere estate supplied an ideal backdrop for capturing the beautiful wedding of this wonderful couple. I really enjoyed meeting their families, and I wish them nothing but happiness in the years to come. Congratulations, Nicola and Emmanuel!

October 6, 2012 - Amanda & Jonathon

My rainy day streak for recent weddings is unbroken, but nevertheless, I had an amazing day with Amanda and Jonathon. Both their families are very warm and loving, and what better occasion to showcase such hospitality than a wedding? Amanda and Jonathon are a ton of fun, and we had a blast! The bridesmaids were real troopers, in spite of the rain and cold, and in the end, I got some of my favorite photos of the entire 2012 season. Thanks for choosing me to capture your special day, and congratulations Amanda and Jonathon!

September 22, 2012 - Anne Louise & Pierre

Well, the rain keeps coming for my late summer weddings, but for Anne Louise and Pierre, we got a bit of a break to get a handful of outdoor photos inbetween showers. Anne Louise and Pierre got married in the gorgeous chapel at Saint Paul University. I never even knew such a gem existed in Ottawa! The venue was bright and beautiful, and the perfect setting for Anne Louise and Pierre to join their families together. Anne Louise and Pierre were one of the most easy-going couples I've ever had the pleasure of working with, and I wish them all the best in their futures together. Congratulations, Anne Louise and Pierre!

September 8, 2012 - Christa & Melvin

If rain on your wedding day is good luck, what does hail mean? Continuing our theme of crazy weather this summer, Mother Nature served up everything from a torrential downpour to a golden sunset streaming through the clouds. Christa and Melvin took it all in stride and had one of the most heartwarming weddings I've ever been privileged to be a part of. I consider myself a pretty tough cookie, but seeing Christa dancing with her father after meeting this lovely family brought a tear to my eye. I'm very grateful to have been invited to be a part of Christa and Melvin's unique wedding celebration. Congratulations, Christa and Melvin!

August 25, 2012 - Samantha & Patrick

Samantha and Patrick were a dream to work with. Between Samantha's smokey blue eyes and Patrick's handsome features, it was impossible to take a bad photo of this couple! Samantha and Patrick's families are a little spread out, so they chose to get married in beautiful Perth, Ontario, roughly equidistant from both families, and a gorgeous little town overflowing with character and history. Even though our timing was a little tight with some of the photos, I'm thrilled to pieces with how their portraits came out. I hope they're as happy with them as I am! Congratulations, Samantha and Patrick!

August 11, 2012 - Roseanne & Joe

They say rain on your wedding day is good luck, which must be true because Mother Nature chose Roseanne and Joe's wedding day to break a month-long drought and bless this beautiful couple with good fortune! Roseanne and Joe are pretty quiet and reserved, but they're obviously in love, and clearly have a loving and supportive family surrounding them. I had a great time working with Roseanne and Joe, here's a sneak-peak of the action from their wedding day. Congratulations, Roseanne and Joe!

July 21, 2012 - Christina & Craig

Up until a couple of days before Christina and Craig's wedding, I was a little worried about the weather. It's been brutally hot here lately, but thankfully Mother Nature delivered beautiful sunshine, tolerable temperatures, and even a bit of a breeze. It must be good luck! It's clear to me that Craig and Christina are close to their friends and family. It quickly became equally clear to me that these folks know how to party! This wedding was a lot of fun to be a part of, and I'm really happy with how the photos turned out. I hope Christina and Craig like them, too! Here's a small sample of Christina and Craig's wonderful wedding day. Congratulations, guys!

July 14, 2012 - Lisa & Troy

I've been looking forward to this wedding for quite a while. Lisa owns the D'Arcy McGee's in Kanata, and Troy owns his own contracting business. They're both very organized, and the reception featured the bartenders, kitchen staff, and even live entertainment from Lisa's pub. It was fantastic! Lisa's dress was amazing, and even though the weather was a little on the warm side (understatement alert!), everything came together and culminated with a one-of-a-kind tent party at a beautiful family property in Kinburn. I had a blast working with Lisa and Troy, as the following photos should demonstrate! Congratulations, Lisa and Troy!

May 26, 2012 - Kyle & Ashlee

You may see some familiar faces in this wedding. Kyle, the groom, is the brother of Ryan, whose wedding I photographed last fall. I was so happy for the opportunity to work with this wonderful family again that I hit the road and drove all the way to Guelph for Kyle and Ashlee's wedding! Kyle and Ashlee got married at the Cutten Club, a golf club in Guelph where they first met, several years ago. Since then, they've moved to Ottawa and had many adventures together, but to celebrate the official uniting of their lives, they wanted to bring it back to where it all began. The weather cooperated and Ashlee's diligent planning resulted in a beautiful and personal wedding ceremony. Congratulations, guys!

May 5, 2012 - Brandon & Vanessa - Engaged!

I can't wait to see Brandon and Vanessa's wedding at the Wakefield Inn this October. As a little bit of a "warm up", I met up with Brandon and Vanessa last weekend and we had a fun little brownie baking session / engagement photo shoot. We started off with some delicious chocolate brownies and some lovely Sandbanks wine, then meandered through the beautiful parks in their neighborhood. Brandon and Vanessa are a dream to work with, and I'm really looking forward to being a part of their wedding this fall. Congrats, guys!

February 18, 2012 - Richard & Christina

My first photo shoot of 2012 goes to Richard and Christina! Richard is my brother-in-law, and he's marrying Christina this upcoming April. They visited us in Ottawa for the Family Day weekend, and I was honoured to take some engagement photos for them. I'm actually standing with Richard in his wedding party - this will be a new experience for me! I'm really looking forward to it. In the meantime, here's a preview of the happy couple, enjoying a cold, February Ottawa afternoon at the Museum of Civilization.

October 1, 2011 - Kim & Kevin

Kim and Kevin really made their wedding their own. They braved chilly October weather to do their formal photos before the ceremony, they had an intimate ceremony with close friends and family, and they saw each other before their vows. But through it all, it was clear this was a couple deeply in love, and wholly committed to each other. Their wedding party was among the most fun and easy-going I've ever had the pleasure to work with, and the support and joy among their family members was palpable. I had a great time meeting Kim and Kevin, and I hope I was able to capture their very unique celebration just as they remembered it. Here are a few of my favorite shots from their once-in-a-lifetime day.

September 10, 2011 - Ryan & Lisa

You couldn't have asked for a more perfect day than what Mother Nature delivered for Ryan and Lisa's wedding. After a decadent morning at the spa, Lisa met Ryan at the rustic Lone Star Ranch for a western-style wedding. Their wedding was full of personal touches, from Ryan and Lisa's casual footwear, to the fajita-buffet feast, Ryan and Lisa made sure every last one of their guests left with a full belly, and a ton of amazing memories. I truly feel blessed to have met Ryan and Lisa, and I wish them a long and happy future together. Here are a few of my favorite shots from their perfect wedding day.

July 16, 2011 - Louise & Randy

Every wedding is unique, and one of the things I most enjoy about photographing weddings is seeing how the couples choose to celebrate their wedding in their own personal way. Louise and Randy have been together for 7 and a half years, so so they've had plenty of time to plan their wedding day. Everything came together exactly as they'd dreamed, including the weather. They had an intimate, outdoor wedding at Randy's parents' house on a sprawling 30-acre property along the St. Lawrence River, near Iroquois. The whole day was relaxed and casual - it felt like a family reunion, with a wedding thrown in! Despite the bright sun, we were able to create all kinds of stunning photos, thanks to the shade from the hundreds of trees on the property. Here's a small sample of their photos. Congratulations, guys!

July 2, 2011 - Marianne & Derek

To say that Marianne likes leopard print would be a gross understatement. Likewise, to say Derek and Marianne are madly in love would be an equal understatement. Derek and Marianne are a perfect match for each other, and I was honoured to be invited to be a part of their once-in-a-lifetime day. Marianne's style was evident everywhere, from her leopard-print garter to the leopard-print wedding cake. Watching these two families come together was truly special, and I had a great time celebrating with everyone. Here are a few of my favorite images from their amazing day!

May 28, 2011 - Evonne & Scott

I'd been looking forward to photographing Evonne and Scott's wedding for quite a while now. With the ceremony at the opulent Notre Dame Cathedral, and the reception at the Lac Leamy Casino, not to mention the gorgeous couple themselves, it promised to offer stunning images. Though the weather threatened rain, it held off and delivered that photographer's dream of soft, overcast lighting. I had a great time working with Evonne and Scott, and I hope they're as happy with their photos as I am. Here is a small sample of the many fantastic moments I captured on their wonderful wedding day.

May 14, 2011 - Tanya & Alain

If April showers bring May flowers, what do May showers bring? Not even unrelenting rain could dampen Tanya and Alain's spirits last Saturday, as they joined their lives together in front of an intimate gathering of friends and family. They had a beautiful ceremony in a gorgeous little church in Aylmer, Quebec, then gathered at the stunning Museum of Civilization for some photos. Here are some of the highlights from their wonderful wedding.

April 2, 2011 - Sharron & Ivan

The blog entries are a little sparse during the winter, but we're rapidly picking up speed as we head into the spring busy season. Last weekend, I met up with Sharron, her husband Ivan, and their 2 dogs at their home in Ottawa. Sharron hired me to capture her sister's wedding in January (scroll down to see their photos), so if she looks familiar, you're not crazy! Sharron needed some head shots for corporate publicity material, and we also took advantage of the opportunity to get some nice family photos before Sharron, Ivan, Lily and Charlie move to their new home in Kingston. Here is a small sample of the photos we took last Saturday.

January 15, 2011 - Ken & Brenda

Welcome to 2011, everybody! On Saturday, January 15, I had the pleasure of meeting Ken, Brenda, and their families. Ken and Brenda actually got married earlier in the week in an intimate ceremony at home, but they had the reception Saturday night at the Ottawa Police Association (Ken is a retired police officer, and Brenda is Labour Relations Officer for the Ottawa Police Association). They just wanted a few candid photos of their celebration, and I was more than happy to oblige. Congratulations Ken and Brenda! Here are a few of my favorite photos from your beautiful wedding reception.

August 28, 2010 - Justin & Asuka

For a change of pace, how about a few photos from a wedding where I wasn't the official photographer, but was actually a guest? :) Justin is my wife's cousin, so when we were invited to their wedding, I jumped at the chance to attend a wedding where I could actually relax a little bit and just enjoy the celebration without the usual pressure. We had a great time, but of course, I couldn't resist taking at least a few photos. Here are a half-dozen or so of my favorites from Justin and Asuka's wedding day.

October 16, 2010 - Paul & Caitlin - Married!

Paul and Caitlin's was my last scheduled wedding of the season, and what a way to end things! I'd been anxiously awaiting Paul and Caitlin's wedding since I shot their engagement photos last month, and they didn't disappoint. They were married in the stunning Notre Dame Cathedral, and had their reception at the opulent and historic Chateau Laurier hotel. The weather was perfect, everyone looked beautiful, and Paul and Caitlin are just a joy to work with. The day flew by, and before I knew it, my time with them was over. I had a fantastic time, and I know Paul and Caitlin will have many wonderful adventures in their new lives together. Thanks for inviting me to be a part of your wedding, guys! Here are a few of my favorite photos from their day.

September 19, 2010 - Paul & Caitlin - Engaged!

I can't wait to shoot Paul and Caitlin's wedding in October. They're so much fun, and they love the outdoors. They spend a lot of time doing all sorts of outdoor activities, and their engagement shoot was no exception! We met up at Pink Lake in Gatineau Park, and they took me on a tour along the walking trail around the lake. It was a gorgeous day, and I really enjoyed getting to know even more about this wonderful couple. Here's a sample of a few of my favorite photos from our session today.

September 11, 2010 - Heba & Nabil

You might recognize this gorgeous couple - I shot their engagement photos back in July. Well, last weekend was finally the big day, and Heba and Nabil didn't disappoint! They were actually already married, so this day was more of a celebration than anything. We spent the afternoon with their family and friends at the Museum of Civilization taking some formal photos, then we moved to the Museum of Nature for the real party! The music, the costumes, the Lebanese food, it was all so overwhelming! This couple really knows how to throw a party! Heba and Nabil, thanks so much for inviting me to share your day with you, here's a small sample of some of my favorite photos of the festivities.

September 4, 2010 - Mary & Aaron

Golf is a big part of Aaron & Mary's lives, so it was only appropriate that they had their wedding reception at the Metcalfe Golf and Country Club. Aaron actually works at the club, so he was able to ensure the VIP treatment for his reception. Mary and Aaron got married just up the road, in the St. Catherine of Sienna church, in Metcalfe, Ontario. Aaron and his groomsmen are clearly very close, and their comraderie came shining through in their photos. The weather threatened to put a damper on the celebrations, but in the end, it turned out to be a great day for a wedding! I only spent a few hours with Mary and Aaron, but here are a few of the highlights of their celebration.

August 14, 2010 - Kathy & Don

I just met Kathy and Don a few short months ago, but I could immediately tell that they were perfect for each other. Kathy and Don are both quite shy, but obviously deeply in love. I was privileged to be a part of their wedding, and I'm grateful for having met both of them. Kathy and Don married in a beautiful, simple ceremony in Rideau Park United Church, followed by a lavish reception at the picturesque Chateau Laurier. I had an amazing time sharing Kathy and Don's day with them - they both have fantastically supportive families, and I wish them all the best in their future. Thank you for inviting me to share your celebration, Kathy and Don! Here's a sample of the photos I captured during your amazing day.

July 2, 2010 - Engaged! Heba and Nabil

Heba, Nabil and I took a chance and headed downtown the day after Canada Day for some engagement photos. I'm happy to report that Ottawa survived another Canada Day relatively unscathed! :) There were still lots of tents, people, and concert equipment everywhere (especially with Jazzfest in full swing), but we were able to get some great shots commemorating Heba and Nabil's engagement. I can't wait to shoot their wedding this September! Here are some highlights from our Friday evening.

June 19, 2010 - Anna and Tom

Anna and Tom's wedding had a lot of little personal touches in it. From their adorable 11-month old son, London, to the custom-made ties, made from the same tartan as Tom's kilt, their wedding really expressed their own style. Anna and Tom married in their church in Kanata, and followed it with an awesome reception at the Loch March golf club. Congratulations, guys!

June 18, 2010 - Anne and David

Believe it or not, Anne and David actually met through eHarmony - living proof that Internet dating can have a fairy tale ending! I had so much fun working with Anne and David. Anne is a stunning psychiatry student, and David is a handsome business owner - I couldn't ask for better clients. David seemed quiet at first, but as I got to know him, I realized he has a fantastic sense of humour. He gave one of the most original and hilarious reception speeches I've ever heard! Anne really "gets" David, and she clearly loves her family and friends dearly. Anne and David married in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Strathmere, and had an intimate reception in the historic Inn. I had a great time working with Anne and David, and I just know they'll love their photos. Thanks for inviting me to share your special day with you, guys!

June 12, 2010 - Sheryl and John

This wedding was a first for me - I didn't meet John until the day of the wedding! Sheryl's mother, Rojina, is a super-organized dynamo who coordinated a beautiful and unique wedding for her daughter. Sheryl's family is Lebanese, so the party atmosphere was in full gear, all day! There was good music, good food, and good times from the moment I arrived until the night finally wound down. Congratulations, Sheryl and John, I wish you all the best! Here is a small sampling of photos from your incredible day.

June 5, 2010 - Pam and Bryan

I had a lot of fun working with Pam and Bryan. They're both a little shy, but very organized! Pam and Bryan married in the beautiful and historic Peace Tower church, on Bronson street, then celebrated with a reception in picturesque Montebello, across the river in Quebec. The weather was a mixed bag, greeting them at the reception with a torrential downpour, but most of the day was as bright and sunny as Pam's smile. Here's a small sampling of Pam and Bryan's amazing wedding day.

May 22, 2010 - Alex and Summer

Alex and Summer are a gorgeous young couple who really know how to get married in style! Their wedding was one of the classiest events I've ever been to, and they're a fantastic couple. Everything about their wedding expressed their own personality and style, from the stretch SUV-limo to the traditional vodka shots at dinner. I had a great time sharing Alex and Summer's wedding day with them, and I know they'll have a long, happy life together!

April 24, 2010 - Shannon and Aleisha's Engagement

Shannon is a former co-worker of mine, so I was elated when his fianc饠Aleisha asked me to take their engagement photos for them. Shannon and Aleisha are a lot of fun, and Aleisha's outgoing personality made this shoot seem more like fun than work! My wife Darah even came along to help out with some lighting techniques. Shannon and Aleisha are getting married later this summer in southern Ontario, so they wanted their engagement photos to reflect their life here in Ottawa. We roamed around Parliament, the Chateau Laurier, and the Rideau Canal - I think that's about as "Ottawa" as you can get! Here's a sample of some of the photos the 4 of us created yesterday.

March 6, 2010 - Sarah, Carl, and Lauren

On Saturday, I visited Sarah and Carl, and met their new daughter, Lauren. Lauren is less than 4 weeks old, and she's adorable! She's still tiny, and we were able to get some great photos of their growing family. You may recognize Sarah and Carl - I shot their wedding last year. They're a lot of fun, and I know they'll make great parents. Congratulations, you guys! Here's a sample of some of the photos I took for them.

February 13, 2010 - Shaun and Anik

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of shooting my first winter wedding. Shaun is another local wedding photographer, and trusted me with the task of shooting his wedding to Anik. Shaun and Anik are a wonderful couple who complement each other perfectly. Their wedding represented the merging of two very culturally diverse families - French Canadian meets Trinidadian. The result was an amazingly unique celebration, even if it was a little too chilly to get many outdoor portraits (-14 degrees Celcius!) I had a blast shooting Shaun and Anik's wedding, and I know they'll continue to make each other happy for the rest of their lives. Congratulations, Shaun and Anik!

January 30, 2010 - Leann Nicholson Family Photo Shoot

I've got to hand it to Leann's family - they're made from tough stuff! On Saturday, I met up with Leann's family (visiting from Toronto) at the Châ´¥au Laurier to take a few fun family photos around the downtown Ottawa area. With a high of -14ê   Celcius, it promised to be a chilly day! But the wind stayed low and the sun provided a beautiful, warm light, and we were able to get some great shots at the Eternal Flame on Parliament Hill. We weren't outside for too long, but here are some of the highlights:

October 24, 2009 - Brendan & Merrigan

Brendan and Merrigan's was my final wedding of the 2009 season, and Merrigan earned the distinction of having the earliest start of any Bride I've shot. Merrigan's hair appointment was at 6:00 AM! It was a long day, but it was a ton of fun. Brendan and Merrigan complement each other perfectly, and I could tell right away that they're deeply in love. The weather was rainy, but they say that's good luck! Congratulations, Brendan and Merrigan, I hope you had as much fun as I did!

October 10, 2009 - Robert & Susan

This was a very special wedding. Robert is my brother-in-law, and I堢een looking forward to shooting Robert and Susan෥dding for over a year now. What made their wedding so special (besides the family connection) was that they had it in Newfoundland, the one province I hadn๥t visited. My wife and I flew in and spent a week on 襠Rockꠠ touring around and getting to know some of the friendliest Canadians I堥ver met. Congratulations, Robert and Susan 頨ope you love your photos as much as I enjoyed getting to celebrate with you!
